Meet Emily Pilewski, a New York City–based creator who documents the rhythms of everyday life with intention and ease. Guided by balance as her LAUNE, her approach blends productivity with self-care, capturing what it looks like to build routines and enjoy the city at your own pace.
1. Tell me about yourself.
I’m originally from Long Island, New York, and now living in the city while studying marketing at Fordham University. I’ve always loved all things fashion, NYC, and health & wellness for as long as I can remember. I started posting on TikTok as a creative outlet to document the things I genuinely love, from daily outfits to my favorite NYC recommendations. Outside of school, I love spending time with friends, exploring different neighborhoods, and building routines that help me feel my best.
2. What is your LAUNE (mood)?
Balanced. I love to stay busy, but I will always prioritize self-care to stay grounded.
3. What inspires you?
I draw inspiration from everything around me. I love people watching, noticing personal style, routines, and the small details that make everyday moments interesting. I also spend a lot of my free time scrolling on Pinterest, saving anything that sparks my interest.
4. What drives your creative process and content?
I love to post what brings me joy and the content I personally enjoy seeing on my own feed. I try not to overthink it too much. If I love it, I share it!
5. Your Day-in-My-Life videos are a big part of your content. Walk me through a DIML.
A typical day in my life is a balance of school and fun. I don’t usually share the parts of my day spent doing hours of schoolwork, but I always make time to do something that brings me joy, whether that’s grabbing coffee with a friend, shopping, or going for a walk through the Botanical Gardens.
My mornings always start with coffee, one at home, followed immediately by another out. Movement is my biggest non-negotiable, whether that’s a long walk or Pilates. I’m a big fan of Sami Clarke’s FORM app and have been using it consistently for the past two years.
After that, I’ll head to class and get through my schoolwork, all the less exciting parts of the day that usually aren’t pictured. I like to treat my school days like a 9-5 and get everything done during those hours so I can fully enjoy my evenings. After class, I like having something social to look forward to, even if it’s just a casual plan.
Saturdays are always my favorite, when I get to try fun new spots around the city with my friends and fully enjoy New York at a slower pace.
6. What do you love about New York?
Everything. From the energy to the people, there is truly nothing like New York. There’s never a boring day here, something is always happening, and it constantly inspires me in ways big and small. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to go to school here, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else!
7. What are you looking forward to in 2026?
I am traveling to Europe for the first time with my family. It’s always been on our bucket list, so I’m beyond excited!
8. What’s next for you?
I graduate in 2027, so hopefully after that I’ll be staying in New York City and starting my career in marketing. Along with that, I’m excited to continue using social media as a creative outlet to share fashion, lifestyle, and everyday moments that inspire me.
