LAUNE x Jilliene Seymour

Jilliene Seymour is a wellness and movement-focused creative whose path has been shaped by a long relationship with movement and curiosity. Originally from Connecticut, she moved to New York for school and eventually found Pilates to be the practice that connected everything she cared about: structure, strength, and feeling grounded. Below, she talks about her approach to wellness, what inspires her, and where she’s hoping to go next.

1. Tell me about yourself.

My name is Jilliene Seymour. I grew up in Washington, Connecticut, surrounded by nature, movement, and creativity. As a kid, I was always dancing, exploring the woods, making art, and finding any way to express myself physically and creatively. At 18, I moved to New York City to study food studies, media, and communication at The New School. Somewhere between downtown classes and discovering Reformers, I completely fell in love with Pilates. It connected my dance background with my love of health, structure, and embodied living. Since then, wellness and movement have shaped every part of my life — how I create, how I work, and how I show up in the world.

2. How would you describe your journey into wellness and fitness?

Organic, intuitive, and rooted in curiosity. I didn’t have a linear plan, it started with movement simply feeling good. Reformer Pilates gave me a sense of strength, alignment, and discipline that I hadn’t found anywhere else. Over time, it became more than fitness: it became a lifestyle, a ritual, and eventually a career. My journey has been about following what feels aligned and building a life around intentional, elevated wellness.

3. What is your LAUNE (mood)?

Equal parts intentional and athletic.
Think: cozy neutrals, wellness, crisp air, long walks, and feeling powerful in my body.

4. What inspires you?

I’m inspired by experiencing the world from different perspectives. Traveling, exploring new cultures, and seeing how people live, move, and express themselves. Good food is a huge part of that for me. I love the way a meal can tell the story of a place, a tradition, or a moment. Those experiences seeing new landscapes, thoughtful design, shared meals, and the feeling of being expanded by a place are what fuel my creativity and my approach to wellness and life.

5. How do you approach movement and wellness in your own daily routine?

With discipline, but also softness. My routines are grounded in consistency: Pilates, long walks, hydration, nourishing meals, and keeping my nervous system regulated. But I also give myself room to shift depending on my energy. Wellness for me isn’t rigid — it’s intuitive structure.

6. What do you love about NYC?

The energy, the ambition, and the way the city makes you rise to meet it. I love the creativity here, the wellness culture, and the feeling that there’s always something inspiring around the corner and always something more to be done. New York is chaotic, beautiful, and endlessly motivating.

7. What’s next for you?

Expanding my presence in the wellness world — teaching, creating, collaborating, and building something that feels elevated, intentional, and deeply aligned. I’m in a season of reinvention and stepping into my next chapter with clarity and excitement.
