Below, Fanny Marcus shares more about the origin of MyAleph, how mindfulness and form inform every design decision, and what it means to make jewelry that’s meant to be felt as well as worn.
1. Tell me about yourself and MyAleph. How was it created?
I was born in Paris with Middle Eastern roots, so I grew up surrounded by style, colors, and lots of spiritual traditions. I had my first two children in Geneva, my third in the U.S., but most of my family still lives in Paris or Geneva. My life has always been a mix of cultures.
MyAleph started almost by accident. I originally made phone charms as a gift for my daughter’s goodie bags at her Bat Mitzvah. All the guests loved them and wore them for months. Soon, people were asking me to make more. My husband convinced me to turn it into something bigger.
I wanted to keep this new endeavor personal and connected to my roots, so I designed original Evil Eye charms and carefully chose energy-rich quartz gemstones for every piece.
2. What inspired the name of MyAleph?
‘Aleph’ is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. So, “My + Aleph” is a little way of saying ‘my beginning’. It felt right because this brand truly was a new chapter in my life.
3. What is the LAUNE (mood) of MyAleph?
Joyful, meaningful, good energy! Whether it’s our women' s or men's pieces, good energy is at the forefront - every bead, material and charm is created or hand-picked to deliver the best energy to our customers. We aren’t just creating accessories, we’re creating little talismans of good vibes.
4. What do you love about Los Angeles?
The warmth! Both of the people and the sun. Since moving here, I’ve met such fun, welcoming people. And this weather… you wake up to sunshine almost everyday. Coming from Paris and Geneva, I don’t take that for granted.
5. What inspires you?
My family is my biggest inspiration. Every piece in our collection is named after a family member. For example, our best-selling ‘Leah Phone Charm’ is named after my daughter. I have pieces named after my husband, my mom, my nieces, cousins - everyone I love! It keeps the brand very personal to me.
6. What’s next for MyAleph?
We’re growing! We are thrilled to start branching into more types of jewelry, which started this summer with our limited edition Belly Chains. You will start seeing more fine jewelry pieces as well as more metal pieces, while staying the same at our core: prioritizing good energy. I can’t wait to share the Fall Collection. It’s going to feel a little more elevated but still very “MyAleph”

The Leah Phone Charm in Emerald. It was my very first piece, so it is sentimental

Impossible! I am a fashion lover… but if I had to pick, Hervé Leger for events and Zadig & Voltaire for daytime
4. Dream collab?
I love the French makeup brand Violette - I’d LOVE to collab by designing some sort of lipgloss charms for their Bisou Balms
5. What are three staple items that every closet should have?
Every woman needs a great pair of jeans, a perfectly cut blazer and high heels to elevate anything.
6. Favorite place?
Paris. I’m a true Parisian woman and I love every corner of the city. Also St. Tropez - pure summer happiness
7. Favorite restaurant in LA?
8. Favorite drinks spot in LA?
The Jazz Bar upstairs at Cipriani in Beverly Hills - the vibes are incredible
9. Favorite style icon?
Brigitte Bardot forever!
10. Favorite movie?
La Piscine - Alain Delon and Romy Schneider are timeless and effortlessly chic. Honestly I have so many, I’m a true French film lover!
11. What are you loving right now?
The MyAleph Mayra Necklace and the Vacation Shimmer Oil with SPF - wearing both everyday on my vacation!
