LAUNE x Sabina Angel
Sabina Angel is a New York–based creative drawn to people, art, and the quiet magic of everyday moments. Guided by curiosity and instinct, her perspective turns the city into something cinematic and personal, shaped by its endless characters and chance encounters. Below, she reflects on curiosity as a mood, New York through a European lens, and what she’s most excited for next.
1. Tell me about yourself.
My name is Sabina, I am 29, Pisces, born in Rome, from my American mom and my Italian dad. I’ve been living in NYC for the past 4 years, working in luxury travel. I am obsessed with dogs, fashion, and just experiencing this fun life!
2. What is your LAUNE (mood)?
I would say Curious! I love to learn about new things, meet new people, travel to new places, and get out of my comfort zone.
3. What inspires you?
So many things - especially people & art. I’m a keen observer, drawn to details, stories, and connection. New York is a constant source of inspiration—it’s a city of icons, and I’ve been lucky to cross paths with many of them.
4. What drives your creative process and content?
I have always been very creative, and I’ve been encouraged by those around me to lean into it, although it is difficult when life gets in the way!
I come from a family of artists, musicians, photographers, and creatives working across fashion and design, and I have a background in cinematography and I love photography and editing. When you create from an honest, authentic, emotional place, the work speaks for itself. I live life as if I’m in a movie—and I feel like my content reflects that “romanticizing of life”. Although I have a busy life and I feel like I don’t put enough of what I would like to in my content at this time.
5. What do you love about New York?
I love that it is quite impossible to get bored, and that no one cares about anything. I love that you can sit alone at a bar and 99% of the time you will end up meeting someone incredibly interesting. There are so many opportunities. I have never had a normal day in this city. It is truly like they portray her in the movies.
6. You’re originally from Rome. What would say are the biggest differences between Rome and New York?
You could go out in your craziest outfit in New York and no one will bat an eye. But try doing that in Rome….
Other than that, I miss sitting at a table for hours in Rome, or going out more because it is so cheap!
7. What does your ideal day in New York look like?
Coffee and Sugar Croissant at Sant Ambreous, walk in Central Park, take some street pics of dogs (I post them on @parkavenuedogs) vintage shop at Michael’s Consignment Store, if it’s warm out I’ll buy snacks at Butterfield Market and lay on the lawn in Central park with my dog or friends, and end the day at Smalls Live Jazz Bar or at St. Jardim in the West Village.
8. What is your core New York City memory?
My best friend is an 82 year old called Steven. He was friends with Jackie Kennedy and Andy Warhol (he showed me pics of them together). I was invited to his 80th birthday at this socialite’s house on the Upper East Side and I still ask myself if that actually happened. I could go on forever about that evening!
9. What are you looking forward to in 2026?
Travelling, celebrating life (I am turning 30), meeting new people, staying in touch with my core friends and honestly, working on stretching more!!!
10. What’s next for you?
I already have lots of travelling scheduled which I am so grateful for. I have many exciting things to look forward to. One of them is to get over this winter, she is brutal! Other than that, I would love to be more constant with my substack and quality content.
