In an era when beauty is as much about skin health as it is about aesthetics, Future Beauty emerges as a refreshing hybrid: a makeup brand infused with skincare actives that aim to simplify and elevate the daily routine. Based in New York City, the brand embodies the pace of its home: fast, functional, and effortlessly polished. It’s quite literally futuristic. Below, founder Samantha Monahemi, shares the story behind the brand, the inspiration for its “2-minute, 3-product” philosophy, and how she’s reimagining beauty.
1. Tell me about yourself and Future Beauty. How was it created? Where does the name come from?
I started Future Beauty out of a simple need: I wanted more out of my products. The industry was either selling makeup that looked good but didn’t do anything for your skin, or skincare that worked but didn’t give you the instant payoff of makeup. Future Beauty merges the two. The name reflects exactly that: beauty that’s not just for today, but for the future of your skin.
2. What is the LAUNE (mood) of Future Beauty?
Future Beauty’s mood is all about futuristic optimism. It’s like we’ve launched straight into the future with formulas that feel chrome, cutting-edge, and totally different from what’s out there today. We’re pushing the boundaries so it feels future-thinking and a little bit out of this world.
3. What inspires you?
I’m inspired by young people who are rewriting the rules in beauty and self-expression. Gen Z in particular is so sharp and unafraid to challenge what brands say, and that really pushed me to create something that respects that intelligence and curiosity.
4. I love how Future Beauty lies at the intersection of skincare and makeup. What inspired you to merge these categories, and how do you ensure your products deliver equally on both beauty and skin health?
I was inspired to create makeup made of up to 99% skincare ingredients because so much 'skincare makeup' out there just has a tiny drop—enough to claim it, but not enough to deliver real benefits. Our entire mission is focused on products you can use every day that truly contribute to your skin’s future. We do that by using skincare-level percentages of actives while making sure the makeup performance is just as good.
5. What does your beauty routine look like?
In the morning, I always start with our Future Beauty 2-Minute Morning: our SPF, Caffeine Concealer, and Jelly Lip + Cheek Stain, then usually mascara, a little brow, and setting spray. If I’m in the mood, I’ll add a bit more like powder or extras on top. At night, I double cleanse, pick a serum based on whatever my skin needs at that moment, and finish with eye cream and a hydrating spray.
6. What’s next for Future Beauty?
We’re focused on expanding our hero products and building our community, but we’re also quietly working on some fun innovations. A little hint: we’re reimagining a well-loved category/product in a way that’s never been done before. And of course, we’re excited about future collaborations that bring beauty into unexpected places.

1. What’s one product you could not live without?
Our Future Beauty SPF. I literally started the brand because I needed a sunscreen I actually wanted to wear every day.
2. What are three staple items that every closet should have?
A great oversized blazer, a pair of slacks that can take you from work to a night out, and a pair of elevated sneakers.
3. Describe your style in three words.
Coordinated, relaxed, and modern.
4. Early mornings or sleeping in?
Neither.
5. AM or PM skincare?
AM, because you can use skincare-makeup hybrids, of course.
6. Dream collab?
A Cult Gaia collab would be the coolest. I can just envision a chrome clutch that would be so futuristic and sick.
7. Favorite drinks spot in NYC?
Le B in the West Village, the best.
8. Favorite restaurant in NYC?
Definitely the most casual, but I’m never not craving KazuNori.
9. Favorite style icon?
Lady Di.
10. Favorite movie?
Clueless.
11. What are you loving right now?
Lip stains. I love trying different types and brands, lip stain pens, lip oil stains, but of course, there’s no other Jelly Lip + Cheek Stain like ours ;)
